…. Seeing ourselves as others see us would probably confirm our worst suspicions about them” -Franklin P. Jones.
…..According to the scripture, “Wisdom is profitable to direct”. No reasonable person gives a baby something/food that will choke him because he cried for it.
Listen, some people are not strong enough to handle the truth. It is a natural thing. No wonder Logan Pearsall Smith said, “Don’t tell your friends their fault. After they cure them, they’ll never forgive you”.
However, what a person does not know, won’t hurt him/her.
Telling your spouse your past life or lifestyle because you don’t want him/her to hear it elsewhere might end up destroying that which you want to protect.
Honestly speaking, it doesn’t matter. Let your new lifestyle serve as a conviction to him/her, even if he/she hears it elsewhere. Some things are better left unsaid.
However, the most childish thing anyone would do is to start digging his/her spouse’s past.
Be it good, bad or ugly, the marriage vow has SHIELDED them all.
As Paul Okoye, popularly known as #Rudeboy, stated in one of his songs…”If you want that special person go build him/her yourself”.
Marriage makes us potential builders.
Therefore be still, LET YOUR NEW LIFESTYLE SPEAK FOR YOU.
No one pleases another by hurting him/her. If it’s not something that needs attention, please HOLD YOUR PEACE.
It is my desire to seeing your marriage prosper.
